Low emission vehicle drives the national automotive industry

JAKARTA – Ministry of Industry encourages the national automotive industry to keep developing vehicles that matches the technology and consumer’s preference. Besides that, in order to compete in the global market, automotive products must fulfill several aspects including safety, comfort, eco-friendly, fuel saving and affordable price.

“If we are still developing LCGC, other countries are looking at electricity powered vehicle  or even building a hydrogen powered vehicle since it saves more energy and eco-friendly,” said the Minister of Industry “ Airlangga Hartato”.

Airlangga explained that, low carbon emission vehicle (LCEV) is targeted to enter the Indonesian market as much as 25% or 400 thousand unit in 2025. “It can be in a form of electric, hybrid or other cars. Currently, the government is harmonizing PPnBm and will give more incentive for LCEV cars instead of conventional cars,” he added.
